Setting up Soccer and Sports Field

About us
We are relatively conservative Baptist church. The majority of us are seniors, we do have youth, but there are not a lot of middle-aged people. There is a strong inner solidarity among the church, but we do look for chances to serve outwardly. The church is praying for the pastor’s ministry and the poor, as well as supports a missionary in Sweden. There is a soup kitchen running, and our youth gladly takes part in various projects and serves from the heart.
We are located in one of the biggest SW cities in Latvia, at the seaside. There are around 70,000 inhabitants, but the number is decreasing rapidly since our industrial leader “Liepaja Metallurgist” recently went bankrupt. The church can be found in the heart of a rather poor area of the city, not for from the city center. Most of the neighborhood population is Russian.
The evangelization/mission goals and strategy of the church
At the moment, we desire to reach new families and youth by building personal relationships and inviting them to well organized church events. The motto of the church is “Pray, learn, live”.
Our dream is Soccer & Sports field in the church yard
for the needs of local children and youth. We hope that will help us in reaching the local children, and also their parents through them, increasing the number of Sunday school students as well as involving the youth of the church in the children’s ministry.
Necessary tasks, stages, steps for realizing this project:
Ordering a fencing, football goals, artificial lawn, gymnastics bars. The fencing and lawn should be set up by professionals. Carrying out improvement works and setting up the gymnastics bars together with the collaboration team.
Planned, desired time for realizing the project
Should be agreed with the collaboration team. Preferably in the beginning of summer.
Roles/tasks of the collaboration team
We inviting the approximately 5 people collaboration team for realizing this project, but we are ready to take in as many people as you find necessary.
• Helping to set up the sports field.
• Leading the first activities on the sports field alongside the church members.
• Celebrating together with the church.
Expected budget of the project
The total sum could reach 5,000 euros.
Fencing for the sports field - approx. 2,000 euros.
Gymnastics bars - 1,500 euros.
Side walls and goals for the sports field - 500 euros.
Artificial lawn - 1,000 euros
